ChairMates treats soft ground as an engineering problem rather than a staging inconvenience. Four narrow legs concentrate a guest's full weight onto a few square inches — enough to punch through sod, sink into sand, and leave a venue with a repair bill after the tents come down.

The line answers that in two ways. The Grass & Sand Series builds the solution into the chair itself, with a U-shaped bottom support that spreads load across the frame. ChairMates Feet do the same job for the chairs and tables already sitting in a rental fleet. All three are patent pending, designed and engineered in the USA, and supported direct by Furniture Innovations.

Field ready for outdoor ceremonies, beach events, lawn receptions and venues with soft or uneven ground. The specialty U-shaped bottom support distributes weight more evenly than standard folding chair legs, allowing safer placement where a conventional chair would sink or tip.

Why It Works

The Whole Argument Is Pressure Per Square Inch

Turf and sand don't fail because guests are heavy. They fail because a standard chair leg concentrates that weight onto almost no surface area.

Stabilize table setups on sand, grass and soft outdoor surfaces. The wider footprint distributes table leg pressure more evenly, reducing sinking and improving presentation at beach events, garden receptions, lawn dinners and outdoor venues.

The Chair Feet — In Development

The Same Physics, for Every Chair in the Fleet

ChairMates Chair Feet apply the table-foot principle to chair legs: an insert that seats into the bottom of a standard chair leg and widens the contact patch, so chiavari, folding and banquet chairs stop sinking into sand and stop marking turf.

Specifying & Setup

Will these actually protect professional turf?

That is what the base geometry is for. A standard folding chair leg puts roughly 44 lbs per square inch into the surface under a 275-lb guest; the Grass & Sand base brings that to about 5. The lower the pressure, the less the fibers and root zone are compressed or punctured. Venues with turf warranties should still confirm their own surface requirements before an event.

Do the table feet fit tables I already own?

They are designed for standard plywood and Steel Skeleton table legs. If your fleet uses a non-standard leg profile, send us a photo and a leg measurement and we'll confirm fit before you order.

When are the Chair Feet available?

Chair Feet are patent pending and still in development. No release date has been set. Dealers on the notification list hear first, ahead of general availability.

Can the chairs stay outdoors between event days?

They are built for outdoor use with resin frames and stainless hardware, but they are event furniture, not permanent site furniture. Store them covered and out of direct sun between events to protect the cushion and preserve color.
